Faith To Overcome!

This devotion is part of the Overcoming by Faith Devotional Series and today we’re looking at faith to overcome!

The focus verse is from 1 John 5:4 and we’re looking at how we can overcome struggles and doubts by meditating on and applying God’s word.

So let’s get into it:

Faith To Overcome

Focus verse

“…for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4

Devotion

It is by faith that we overcome the world. Faith that Jesus has been raised from the dead and is alive. Faith that He is with us, through His Holy Spirit. Faith that Jesus is at the right hand of God.

Whenever we experience hard situations, we need to understand that we won’t be able to fight discouragement and fear by our own willpower, but by faith.

So where does that faith come from? From Jesus – the author and finisher of our faith. When we are in Jesus, we can choose faith over doubt. Faith over discouragement. Faith over fear.

And what do we put our faith in? We put our faith in God’s Word (Hebrews 11:3), Christ’s work on our behalf (Hebrews 12:2), God’s work in our lives (Philippians 2:13), and God’s never-ending love. (Romans 8:37-39)

So today I would like to encourage you, mama, to read God’s word, meditate on it, and then apply it to your thoughts every time you feel anxious, afraid or riddled with doubt.

When you do, you’ll discover how you can overcome by faith!
