A Confused Heart
Hi, friend! Today I’m sharing a poem I wrote a few months ago: A Confused Heart. I wrote this poem when I was experiencing a season of confusion and lack of direction. Similar to David in the psalms, I find that when I put my emotions to words and express those to God, it helps me to process my feelings and turn to God in praise. Please check out my other poems, if you find that Christian poetry is a way that God speaks to your heart. So here goes: A Confused Heart Tangled in a web of emotion My heart drowns in the turbulent ocean Of confusing thoughts and…

Now I Am Free – A Christian Poem
In today’s blog post, I share a poem I wrote recently: Now I Am Free. This poem addresses the battle we often experience in our minds when it comes to who we are in Christ and the freedom we have. As Christians, we need truth to set us free as we take every thought captive in obedience to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5) If you’d like to check out other poems, please refer to that part of the blog. š Now I Am Free I fear pain, death, and slavery Yet, You tell me Iām free The chains of death no longer hold me In my moments of fear I listen…

So without further ado, here goes: A Divided Heart A desire for joy abundant and free A desire for soul-destroying pleasure We loathe and love the shackles We desire freedom Yet we cling to our inequities Jesus calls us to surrender To relinquish control To abandon our lives To lose ourselves He shows us again…

Surrender – A Christian Poem
Hi mama! Today, I’m sharing a poem based on my experience regarding anxiety and God’s deliverance. This poem focuses on the amazing blessing we experience when we surrender to God’s will and stop striving on our own. Indeed, often anxiety comes about from a focus on self, instead of surrender to God. When we hold on to our will and our abilities, instead of trusting in the Creator of the Universe, who is also our Heavenly Father. So, here goes: Poem I trudge up the hill Bearing my burdens with a groan My heart buckling under the weight Of carrying a load alone The pressure becomes intolerable I relinquish my…
