For Everything There Is A Season
From the Redeeming Time Devotional Series
Today I’m sharing devotion number two in the Redeeming Time Devotional Series: For Everything There Is A Season.
Here goes today’s devotion on this Blog and on the Podcast.
For Everything There Is A Season – S2 E2
Focus verse
For everything, there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven – Ecclesiastes 3:1
Devotion
This time, just over two years ago, the world was a different place. We travelled with no thought about tests; we made plans not expecting them to be broken; we spoke to people on the street with no thought about social distancing; there was no war on.
Life is different now.

As a mum, I find this season we’re going through globally to be difficult. I want to give my children the childhood I had.
But then I’m reminded that God is sovereign and for some reason, He has allowed my children to be alive in such a time as this.
So perhaps rather than simply feel negative about that which I cannot change, God is challenging me to redeem this difficult season to teach my children eternal truths that never change.
❤️ God came to the world to give us eternal life
❤️ God’s love is unfailing
❤️ We have hope because one day Jesus will return and all crying and pain will be banished forever
Questions for reflection
- What have you learnt about God in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic?
- How can you redeem the covid-19 season to teach your child about God?
Prayer
Thank You, Father God, that You are unchanging. Thank You that You are always good, Lord, and that there is Truth that never changes. Thank You, we can trust in You. Even though the world is sometimes a place of unrest and difficulty and there are calamities, wars, and struggles, Lord, thank You we can rest in You and trust in You because you are always good, and You never change. You are Sovereign, You are King, and everything that happens in the world only happens because you allow it to be so. We also know that one day You will return, and all crying, pain and suffering will be banished forever. Lord, we know You are going to cause these things to come to pass, and we can trust in You for the future, for us and our children. So help us to rest in You and in the truth that never changes, teach our children these truths, and redeem this difficult season to teach them the Gospel, to teach them truth about You.
Amen.
