Wait For The Lord And Be Strong

From the Silence is Golden Devotional Series

Today I’m sharing devotion number five in the Silence Is Golden Devotional Series. In today’s devotion, I share about how God strengthens us when we wait for Him based on the Bible verse: “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14).

Wait For The Lord And Be Strong – S5 E5

Focus verse

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. – Psalm 27:14

Devotion

There is strength in waiting for the Lord. Waiting in Him shows we trust Him.

When we trust God, we’re not swayed by the winds of change, our anxious thoughts, our fleshly desires. Instead, we wait for God’s overriding will, in the full knowledge of His goodness.

Let me tell you a story.

One morning, I woke up, and my heart was troubled. I was anxious about the future and I couldn’t focus on my work. Then I turned to God in my frustration and anxiety. I cried out to Him, and He delivered me from the stress that was consuming my mind. When I was praying, God revealed to me again His love for me. God reminded me that He is my Papa and I am His child. Yes, me! A mama. I’m also a child.

After this truth hit me again, I was strengthened. I was able to rest in God. I was able to work and focus. Anxiety fled, the moment truth came.

Mama, please be encouraged today that God is your Papa. You can trust in Him. Through the winds of change. Through the valley of despair. Through the struggle and strife. He is Your Father.

Questions for reflection

  • What anxieties have dragged you down recently?
  • Are there situations in the lives of your children that have brought you stress and worry?
  • How does knowing God is your Father help you grow in strength and peace?

Prayer

Father, You are full of love and mercy. You are sovereign. You are good. Lord, calm my anxious heart. Strengthen me from inside. Lord, I bring to You my anxious thoughts. Reveal Your love to my heart afresh. You are my Papa and I’m Your child. Thank You!
