Mum Of 3 Evening Routines – To-Do List
Hi! Let’s talk about routines. 🙂 Now I’m someone who needs organisation and routines to keep on top of everything I need to do. I’m actually paradoxical in this because, although I am organised and methodical in certain areas, I’m disorganised in other areas. I guess because I have learnt to be organised in the things that are my top priorities and our frequent needs as a family, but I haven’t extended my organisation skills to all areas of life. Anyway, one thing that I have found that helps me as a mum of three is to have certain morning and evening routines on school days. This really helps me…

How I Adopted The TOMM Cleaning Routine
Ok, so today I’m going to write about the cleaning routine that changed my life as a homemaker. Seriously! Ever since I had become a mother and had to juggle housework with motherhood, cleaning had been stressful. The problem was that in my mind you cleaned the whole house all at once, once a week. That’s the way my mum my mum did it. The way my friends did it. The way most people I knew did it. When we first lived in our previous house, which was a 3 bedroom flat, I just about managed my once a week cleaning spree. But as I had more children, I had…

The Organized Mum Method (TOMM) – A Review
Ok, so as you may have noticed I write about homemaking a lot here on the blog, both with regards to family activities and housework. So today I thought I would share with you my honest experience with The Organised Mum Method. I started the cleaning method back in March 2020, and at first I was excited about cleaning with a timer. I liked the idea of racing against the clock, getting the rooms as clean as possible. But because my kids were at home due to the covid-19 lockdown, I soon realized that cleaning with the timer on, with the kids around was pretty much impossible. I guess I…

TOMM Cleaning Routine – The Basics
I’ve been using this cleaning routine since March 2020, and it really is a game changer. For those who are unfamiliar with the acronym, TOMM is a cleaning method, and it stands for: The Organised Mum Method. Gemma Bray, the author of the method, has a blog, loads of videos on YouTube and a book where she explains the method. So how does it work? TOMM comprises three levels of cleaning jobs. First Level – Daily Jobs These jobs need to be done from Monday to Friday and they should only take 15 minutes to complete. Second level – Weekly Jobs From Monday to Thursday you have a room, or…
