Corporate church? Sunday show? Or the simplicity of following Jesus?
I haven’t written for a while. There’s a reason for that. I’ve been reflecting, processing, asking for direction regarding my content. My conclusion: I need to write about what’s been on my heart in the last couple of weeks. So, here goes! Corporate church? Sunday show? Or the simplicity of following Jesus? In the last few years, my husband and I have been on a journey. A process, if you like. A process of reading the accounts of the New Testament church and observing how disparate the Westernised church has been. Don’t get me wrong. There are people being saved, baptised, transformed by the power of God’s gospel in the Westernised church. …

Embracing His Wholeness
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:4 Devotion As Christians who struggle with our fallen nature, sometimes we have this super spiritual idea that we need to suppress our brokenness and put on the “Christian who has it all together” persona. Not just toward others, but also toward God Himself! Yet, in Scripture, we see something totally different. When we read the psalms of David, for instance, we see that God blesses the psalmist’s confession of weakness and sin. The reason we often keep our brokenness hidden in darkness is that we struggle with shame. We forget that Jesus has…

A Reflection On Eternity
Praise the Lord for the unseen things. While what is seen is transient, fallen, broken, that which is unseen is eternal, beautiful, whole. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says: ”As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” The unseen riches of God’s Eternal Kingdom are not seen by those who are dead in their sins. Yet for those of us who are alive in Christ, there is a beautiful inheritance of revelation and hope. Thank the Lord that it is so! How easily we would despair if…

Back To School Christian Mom Morning Routine
Are the kids going back to school and you want to get back into a good morning routine? I’m here to give you some ideas to help get you started with your own routine! Before we start though, I want to clarify that I’m not going to be including a schedule here. The key to a routine is to follow an order of practices rather than a set schedule. Another thing to note is that while this routine includes several elements that are helpful in my own morning routine, these can easily be adapted to…

Cast Your Burdens On Him
Focus verse “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:2 Devotion There are times in our life when our struggles and pain are connected to the burdens we are carrying. It’s not just our external circumstances, but also our fears about the future. The good news is that when we cast our burdens on the Lord, He promises to sustain us. Indeed, that’s been my experience. It’s been in my moments of greatest weakness when I’ve most cried out to God, that I’ve received deep revelation of who He is and experienced His peace. To illustrate,…

Follow Jesus Wherever He Leads
Hi mama! Today, I’m sharing a brief reflection on what it’s like to follow Jesus when we go through struggles and confusing situations. Today’s reflection is based on Matthew 16:24 where Jesus explains the concept of discipleship to His followers. “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” Matthew 16:24 Reflection A true disciple of Jesus actively chooses to keep following her Rabbi, wherever He goes. Even when she can’t see where He’s taking her. Through dark and windy roads. Up hills and down mountains. Through valleys. Being a disciple is about learning to trust. Unclenching fists. Relinquishing control. Releasing expectations.…

How To Slow Down With Jesus
Hi mama! Today I’m sharing an article on how we can slow down with Jesus, as this is something that is a struggle for us as 21st century mums. First things first: How are you today? Busy? Restless? Does it seem that each year that passes time goes more quickly than the year before? That each day that passes, you seem to accumulate more responsibilities, more pressures, more burdens? Perhaps you miss those days when you had fewer things on your plate, life was slower, and you could enjoy the simple joys of life. Whether that was swimming for hours on hot summer days. Whether that was playing in a…
